Customer Review: Ok but not great
This is a very fun device. It does an ok job cleaning, but with shortcomings: * It leaves debris on the edge of one of our floor carpets. This carpet is about an inch high. It makes it up to the top fine but probably because of the height it ends up leaving a pile of debris behind. * It struggles with leaves (for example) on carpets. * It's noisy so you really want to kick it off when you're heading out the door. * It takes a long time to cover a room. Once again, if you kick it off when you leave and it takes 1 1/2 hours who cares. * After using it for about a year, the battery went, and the side sweeper brush broke off. That said, it does ok and I'm still using it. I don't think any of the other models are better w/ regard to my issues above.
    Customer Review: Love My Roomba!
My mother is one who has everything and needs nothing, so imagine the difficulty I have when choosing a gift for her. I decided on this red Roomba and bought it for her for Christmas. She isn't very technological, so I wasn't sure if she'd be able to use this or even want to. To my surprise and pleasure she absolutely loves it. It cleans even better than lots of the other model vacuum cleaners, and I think we've had them all!

Customer Review: Not duarble - will fail
A clever machine when it works. Mine began failing after a year and totally failed after two years. Spend less time trying to figure out what's wrong with it, buy a regular vacuum cleaner and just vacuum the floor a couple of times a week. Given the technology that goes into this product, iRobot should stand behind it with a 5-year warranty.
Customer Review: I loved my Roomba. Until it died.
I think for a robot, the Roomba did a nice job of picking up. I have a dog, and it was great for keeping up with the hair and the dirt he tracks into the house. I never had unreasonable expectations for it to do an impectible job, but I have to say it did better than I thought it would. So why the low rating? My Roomba died. After just 18 months! For $200, that is just criminal! My old stand up vacuum was given to me by my mom and was almost as old as I am. It still worked when I replaced it with Roomba. I called irobot and they said it was out of warrantly (1 year) and it could not be fixed. I loved my Roomba, but I wouldn't buy another without a longer warranty. It's just not worth the money if it won't last a few years.

Customer Review: Excellent robot vacuum
This is the fourth roomba that I've owned and I love them. Even this most basic model expertly picks up dog hair around the house. I run this vacuum at least 3 days a week and it is perfect for cleaning up while I am out. No complaints.
Customer Review: Awesome device! Get one!
First off, I want to say - get this product through Amazon directly. The third party resellers don't appear to stock product inventory and it can take weeks to ship (had to cancel a previous order from a third party reseller for this reason). As for the iRobot Roomba 410: Awesome little device. I use it downstairs in my kitchen and living area. I have two cats and a stained concrete floor and it does a magnificent job picking up cat hair and other miscellaneous dirt, bugs, etc. The first time I ran it, after only 20 minutes, I stopped it and opened the dust bin - pulled out a massive ball of cat hair and dust I wasn't even aware was on the floor. Over time, the amount of debris I have extracted from the unit has decreased substantially indicating it is doing its job. Fantastic - exactly why I bought it! The cats love it; they follow it around and jump out of the way when it decides to suddenly turn in their direction. Like any mechan...

Customer Review: AVOID this one
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R346P29D2ILV1C Vacuum itself is great on hardwood floors and tiles. It picks up tiniest dusts and I'm not sure if it really works, but UV light was a good feature. QQ2 supposed to have a light sensor that it comes out to the lighter area when it finishes its job but that doesn't really happen. It always stopped vacuuming under bed or sofa. This vacuum had hard time climbing up to the small carpeted area from wooden floors. It was alway stuck between those areas and I had to pick up the vacuum by hand. This vacuum is not so smart and has hard time finding a home base. I had to place the vacuum near (within 1ft) the home base for it to find it. Don't expect too much that it'll charge on its own when the battery dies because it can never find a home base even if its in the same room. I had this vacuum for exactly a year now and...
Customer Review: Help Me I'm Stuck
Nice toy, crappy vacuum. The robot gets stuck within the first few minutes of use (each time we tried to use it). Totally useless and a waste of money... unless you have no furniture or corners in your house.

Customer Review: Fun while it works, but absolutely abysmal customer service when it doesn't
The Scooba was fun while it worked as a novelty. In all honesty, it barely saved any time over doing it myself, but it was fun watching it go. However, after using it once a month for 6 months (a total of 6 times), the battery completely died. The instructions state that I'm to keep the battery in my Scooba at all times when it's not being used to keep it in tip top shape, but then on online forums, people are telling me that by following that instruction, I burnt out the Scooba's battery permanently, and in fact once it's fully charged I need to take it out immediately to keep it from burning out. Customer service said too bad, since you bought it remanufactured you only get a 90 day warranty, doesn't matter that our own instructions directly caused your Scooba's battery to die, why don't you visit our online store and buy another battery? Like heck I am going to give them more of my money as a reward for selling me a shoddy product. I would say avoid the refurbs l...
Customer Review: There is nothing like a clean floor
I have the type of flooring that as soon as a smudge appears on the floor, it looks dirty. Due to the fact that I hate doing floors, particulary, mopping my floors; so they went uncleaned to the point of filthy. I needed a quick fix. I thought, eBay will fit the bill but the bidding was far too rigorous and the prices were getting way out of my range. As I always do after a lack of success with eBay, I turned to Amazon and sure enough the refurbished price was far lower than eBay. I absolutely love the Scooba. I went to Linens N Things and bought 3 bottles of the cleaning solution, and now 6 months later, I haven't used the first bottle. The house smells so fresh and the floors are dazzling. I have found the iRobot customer service to be top notch. I highly recommend the Scooba. Now to get a robotic lawn mower.

Customer Review: Irobot ate my daughter's school project - But will NEVER go back to the old style vacuum
My husband and son got together and thought I would just love an Irobot. I complained a bit that they ordered it...but would give it a try. They set it up quickly. In a few hours off it went....and it has been going every day for the past 3 months. What a great find! Never will I got back to the old style of vacuum. We have a cat which sheds some...but I have 3 kids who track in dirt daily. When I come home from work, I have a freshly vacuumed house. It finds its home base about 90% of the time. If it does not, it is usually our fault. The Irobot ate my daughter's school project she left on the floor - was repairable! It has eaten up many cat toys. It will go after anything you leave on the floor. No mercy! It does not nick the woodwork! So in the end....love, love love it!!! Never will I go back. Only quality issue - one of side brushes fell off...still worked great. You do need to empty the container each day...takes about 20 secs....you will be amazed the dirt it picks up...
Customer Review: Better than I expected
After the purchase, I actually vaccum less. It works really well. The only complaints are it is noise and the replacement parts are expensive. So turn it on when you go out and try not to break an parts.....

Customer Review: Fair, but no roomba
I've had this for a little while (in between roombas) and it does a decent job on tile, but don't expect too much from rugs. We have two rugs that I have to pick up because if it gets on them and runs into a wall, it can't backup to turn around. Lately, although it is showing it is fully charged, 3 out of 4 times, it will run for about 10 seconds, quit and show the battery is drained. It runs slower and quieter than a roomba and doesn't bump into things as strong as a roomba. The dust bin is easier to see, but it doesn't hold as much as the roomba. Dueling robotic cleaners is a riot though when it does work.
    Customer Review: Robo vac
It's cute. Looks like a UFO!! It is a nice little vac to have to clean wood and tile floors. Might work on very low I/O carpet but not on regular carpet. If you have a large room with nothing in the way, this does a great job of picking up dirt, dog hair, etc. It will get hung up if anything is in it's way, table chairs, low furniture. You still have to sweep out corners as it can't get into them, even with the little whisks that turn. I don't use it much as I do have to keep an eye on it so it doesn't get stuck somewhere. It will shut itself off if it gets stuck, and when the charge runs down, it will run long enough to get out from under something so you can find it without having to crawl under a bed.

Customer Review: We take everything for granted, don't we?
We always want more and more.....here we have a "robotic vacuum cleaner" that does an excellent job for the money. I got my cleanmate about a week ago, just after I finished cleaning my 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home down to the mop and glow. Since then every other day I set my cleanmate in each room and it goes, when I look at the dirt bin and see how much dog hair and dirt it picked up, I am grateful for the help and for the fact that does a wonderful job under the circumstances, since we live in the woods and dust and dirt are a common thing around here, it gets really hard to keep my home sparkly clean, but now I can do it with the help of this product. Oh, it works on area rugs too!. The UV light can be use to disinfect the bathroom floors around the toilet, if you know what I mean. If you are searching for a helping hand cleaning your home? This is the way to go.Metapo CleanMate 365 QQ-1 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner, Clean-Mate365 ( QQ1 Red Robot Vac )
    Customer Review: Negative Thoughts
Got this vacuum as a gift. It doesn't pick up much of anything. A few dog hairs and sand-like dirt. It runs over lint, and everything else it should be picking up. Even if I make it go over the same spot several times, it doesn't pick up. After it is done, the carpet looks the same as when it started. I wrote to the manufacturer asking where I could take it to have it checked out and any other advice they could give me. No answer. This product is a useless piece of junk! My daughters both have a Roomba. They love it. Cleans like it should. Wish I had a Roomba!

Customer Review: Very pleased so far.
I got this guy off-season and got him set up, running through multiple "shake-down cruises." Very few problems so far; a bit of a learning curve in setting up the perimeter, etc. But, jeez-o-pete, is he ever so cool! I may design and build a home for him, to simplify the winter storage process, but I can't wait until spring so I can truly turn him loose and see how well he performs in real life. The docs are accurate, though a bit sparse, so far. There is a growing community of dedicated users more than happy to share their thoughts and experiences, which is a huge asset. I wish I knew how to build a body-mod for him so he would look like the chomping turtle on the Flintstones! A very positive experience so far.
      Customer Review: This Mower worthless
You have to have a flat lot, and not many trees in there for Friendly Robo... to work. It will get stuck right by the trees, and if it rained, then you cannot use it because it gets stuck. It can not cut tall grass, and leaves some grass here and there. The worst part is the service. Mine had problem the second week, and when I called the tech. the only way he would look at it is for me to ship it to them. That is 80 to 100 dollars in shipment, and he didn't know how long it will take. You are dealing with Middle Eastern company, so don't expect good customer service.

    Friendly Robotics RL800 Robomower

Early Adopters Pick: May 2003. The first fully robotic lawnmower that can learn parts of your yard.

The Robomower is convenient, easy, robotic, and clean--and it transforms the world of yard work! Set up (once), turn on, and the Robomower cuts the grass on almost any surface--all by itself. Getting the system set up in your yard can take most of an afternoon, but the well-written manual makes the job easier. The biggest part of the set-up task is stringing the perimeter wire around your yard, marking the boundaries the Robomower will stay within. Once you're set, and the mower is on, the machine simply senses the perimeter wire and uses three mulching blades to cut down everything inside the wire. Thanks to the onboard computer, the Robomower can even learn parts of your yard as it mows, making it quicker next time. The mower is quiet, automatic, and the mulching blades mean that when it's done you don't need to bag or rake.

The Robomower is outfitted with safety featu...

    Customer Review: Great idea.....
Great idea for a product......Horrible follow through... I purchased the robomower and brought it home to set up. I spent a full day pushing stakes in the ground setting up a zone. When the time came to realease the robo, it kept going off course...hmmmmm. I call the comapny and they have no idea (also no idea how to speak English) what is wrong. Then after ten call backs they figure out that my zone is too large (not in the instructions). So, I spend another day to set up a three zone configuration. It works for one day and the next day my robomower is in the middle of the street, while my neighbors laugh at me... In summary, this a great idea with potential but the company and support are horrible... Think of it as Windows 3.0.
Customer Review: This is not a lawn mower!
Everyone has stated good things about this product, but there have been a few criticisms. Rather than rehash the good stuff (I have had an RL1000 for almost 3 years and love it) I want to make some comments. 1. The RoboMower is not a lawn mower. It is a cutting system. Comparisons are constantly being made to conventional lawn mowers. With this way of thinking one can equate a fire hearth to a Kitchen stove. It just doesn't make sense. They are apples and oranges. 2. Many have stated they can cut their lawns in 1/3 the time. This is true, but how long would it take to cut the lawn in several different directions. Again, comparing it to another appliance, why would you take an hour to wash your dishes in a dishwasher when you can get the job done in 15 minutes in the sink. When you start the robomower you are basically finished cutting your grass. 3. Rearding the cost of blades and batteries, the expense is more than offset by the cost of fuel, tu...

Friendly Robotics RoboMower 21-Inch Automatic Cordless Electric Lawn Mower #RL850

The Friendly Robotics RoboMower Automatic Lawn Mower is a fully automatic lawnmower designed to mow your lawn entirely by itself. The fully-automatic mower travels across the lawn in a crisscross pattern, covering up to 10,800 square feet on a single charge while you relax on the porch. The RoboMower works by mowing within a selected boundary outlined by a small wire (the unit includes 500-foot perimeter wire). Its navigation system can handle any lawn, regardless of shape, slope, or obstacles. It is capable of mowing 3/4 of an acre on one battery charge. Because the mower is rechargeable, it doesn't need gas or oil, and emits no pollution and little noise. However, it's still as powerful as conventional mowers, employing a battery-powered 3-blade, 21-inch powerful cutting system equivalent to a 5-1/2 HP gas mower, but with better mulching and a 5,800 rpm blade speed (double that of a typical gas unit).

The Triple Chamber Mulching system compacts grass into small clippings that dec...

Customer Review: Stopped working in three hours - lawn not finished
In writing this review I have very mixed feelings and buyers remorse. First I would say that if you expect great customer service from the the manufacture, your not going to get it. I expected a vendor return with my product as it is defective, but the vendor is absolute in me sending it in for warranty work. After dropping a buck and a half you'd think they'd be concerned about reviews and such, but I guess not. Their stance is that it has a two year warranty and that how it should be handled. The reason I have mixed feelings is that my mom has the mower with no issues, in fact she is the reason I purchased it, but I see a train wreck coming and things for me usually only get worse with defective product..............I THINK I GOT A LEMON. Thank god for Amazon as they are taking a return!
    Customer Review: Love it!
It is just about the end of my first summer spent watching Mo cut the grass in our zone 6 Pennsylvania yard. It is a delight not to be doing the work myself. If Mo misses a spot I do not care because I AM NOT MOWING. Yippee. Yes, it takes time and perserverence to lay the wire. I make my own pegs from wire coat hangers and I use 14 gauge wire from Home Depot because the supplies from this maker are just too high priced. The blades will probably have to be replaced (too many stones were hit this year) and the battery still seems fine after one summer of mowing 1/3 acre every week. I have learned to use Mo only in dry weather - comments made by other reviewers are true, he does make a mess in mud and the deck does indeed get clogged with wet grass. But so did my big old gas powered Toro, which I do not miss. You will like this mower if you are opposed to feeding and coddling lawn. MY "yard" was mainly weeds and turfgrass last May. Mo is se...

Customer Review: Scooba is a neat product, but expensive
I liked the idea of the Scooba, but having to use the Clorox cleaning product (it doesn't contain bleach--actually it doesn't list the ingredients on the label) was a deal breaker. Then I read in other reviews that you could use white vinegar instead, which we use for cleaning anyway. That sold me and we've had the Scooba for over a year and a half with no problems (note: this is the 5900 model, which Amazon doesn't seem to carry anymore, though there is the 5800--would that be a newer model?). I have to admit after the initial novelty wore off, it isn't used a whole lot. Sometimes it's just easier to wipe the floor than get it out and empty and clean it afterward. But it does a great job on white kitchen tiles and also wood parquet floors, it cleans and dries the floors well and is fun to watch it work, though unless you get a lot of use out of it, it's a rather expensive toy. We have the basic Roomba too, which gets more use. Both Roomba and Scooba take up a fair amount of space,...
Customer Review: Lazy Virgo Housewife thrilled with I-Robot products
We have had Roomba for 4 years and Scuba for 2 years... I buy the reconditioned ones for gifts. I am thrilled with both machines and could not live without them. My advise buy it, read the manual, follow the cleaning instructions. Being a Virgo I clean them after each use. Second, buy the replacement packages like filters, new brushes, etc. After 4 years I bought a new Roomba battery. I had failed to remember the instructions that if you are not going to use the Roomba for some length of time, take the charged battery out. If you need more than 45 minutes of Scuba time then buy a spare battery and charger. If you haven't used your Scuba for awhile remember to use the little blue bulb and prime it. Amazon offers all the replacement parts... Back to the Virgo part, I probably own 6 vacuum cleaners and 3 carpet/upholstry shampooers... you can never have too many tools to make your life easier.
